About
I help neurodivergent and deep-feeling adults separate symptoms from self, and turn that clarity into everyday tools that fit their wiring, their world, and who they’re becoming.
hi, I'm Laura Christie

Hi, I’m Laura Christie — a psychology-trained coach and published researcher specialising in neurodivergence, self confidence, and identity.
I help bright, sensitive, and high-performing adults separate symptoms from self, understand their wiring, and build a life that fits their brain — not one that fights it.
Before becoming a coach, I worked in clinical psychology and neurodiversity services in London, supporting adults with ADHD, autism, and complex emotional needs. I hold a Master’s in Psychology (Distinction) and have published research in Brain and Behavior on impulsivity, attention, and loss-of-control eating.
Through 1:1 coaching, I combine evidence-based tools from psychology, nervous system education, and performance science to help clients translate self-awareness into self-trust.
Whether you’re processing a late diagnosis, managing symptoms while maintaining high performance, or rebuilding confidence and identity, our sessions are designed to help you reconnect with yourself — calm, capable, and clear.
My approach is grounded, compassionate, and practical — bridging science and self-understanding to help you thrive authentically.

My Journey to adhd diagnosis
For most of my life, I knew I was “different,” but I never had the language for why. As a child, I was sensitive, emotional, often in my own world, and never quite sure why simple things felt harder for me than for other kids. I moved schools frequently and grew up in a turbulent home environment, so my struggles were always explained away as “behaviour” or “circumstance.”
But the patterns didn’t disappear in adulthood. I excelled academically, yet bounced between degrees I couldn't stay engaged with. Later, in work, the cycle continued: I could perform at an incredibly high level, but anything repetitive, rigid, or mundane felt impossible to sustain.
While working as a real estate agent, I was the top salesperson in the company — yet I kept getting pulled up for not completing the repetitive, meaningless cold-calling targets. After one particularly harsh confrontation, I sat in my car and cried, feeling utterly helpless. I couldn’t understand why I could succeed in the hard things but fail at the “simple” ones. I didn’t know who I was, why I kept losing interest, or why nothing ever seemed to stick.
In that moment, something clicked: I was always moving, restless, unable to sit still. I typed those exact thoughts into Google — and every result pointed to ADHD. I was 24, and it was the first time I’d ever truly encountered the term. As I read, it felt like someone had written down my entire life.
The relief was enormous. For the first time, the problem wasn’t “me” — it was my symptoms. There was a me underneath them. And suddenly, there was a toolkit, a framework, a way forward. Once I received an official diagnosis, everything shifted. I could separate who I am from how my brain fires. I could manage symptoms that used to derail me. And I could finally build a life that felt stable, aligned, and sustainable.
During the assessment process, it also became clear that I likely meet criteria for autism — something I connect with personally, even though I’ve chosen not to formalise it, because the tools I use day-to-day are what truly matter.
This is why my work at The Untangled Mind is open to anyone — diagnosed or not — who recognises themselves in these patterns. You don’t always need a label to want clarity, calm, or a deeper understanding of who you are. You just need a place to explore it.

Outside of coaching
I’m deeply inspired by movement, creativity, and the natural world. Kiteboarding is my anchor — a place where presence, growth, and discipline meet. It keeps me connected to my body, the elements and reminds me that freedom is something you build through balance, not escape.
I love to travel and I've lived between London, Brazil, Western Europe, and Egypt — each place shaping how I see people and possibility. London gave me curiosity and drive. Western Europe gave me adaptability and independence. Egypt taught me focus, resilience, and perspective. Brazil gave me humility, and the beauty of simplicity — how much meaning can live in a single moment.
When I’m not on the water or with clients, I’m usually doing yoga, in the gym, or reading up on neuroscience or psychology papers. I’m endlessly fascinated by what helps people feel alive — what makes them light up, move forward, and reconnect with their own sense of wonder.
That’s the thread that ties everything I do together — empowering people, in all their complexity, return to who they truly are.
